Earth Day!

Thank you, Google, for the super cute homepage! The animals move when you scroll over them, and they include penguins AND a koala- me and my sister's favorite animals!


Our planet is special, so please do everything you can to preserve its magnificence. Not only today, but always. This year, I have been taking steps to improve my carbon footprint. I think one of the easiest ways is to buy a plastic cup to re-use at work instead of the Styrofoam throwaways. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond like the one linked here (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=17576976). I also take public transit to work, recycle everything at my apartment, and have four cloth Target bags that I use for groceries. Hopefully next year I can add more improvements to my list!

Just a Dream

It is literally just a dream of mine to sing like this gal. What a great set of pipes! And Sam is pretty good, too :) These two do an amazing cover of Nelly's "Just A Dream". So amazing that they were nominated for an MTV O Award! Voting is now closed, but the show will be streamed live on April 28th at 10 CST. I'll let you know the results later! For now, enjoy this adorable duet!

March Weather Madness

When March comes around in Chicago, for some reason everyone thinks that winter is over and there will be no more cold and snowy days. Of course, everyone is always wrong. But usually there is a small bout of 60 degree days that convince everyone otherwise. "See! It's warming up already! Spring is here! There should be no more snow! Winter should be over!" We are always disappointed.

I don't understand why this happens. We should know better by now. Instead, my facebook newsfeed is bogged down with status updates like "Winter: GO DIE". A bit harsh, no? Let's all just calm down a little and remember that we live in Chicago, where the truly warm weather will not start until May at the earliest. Another blizzard like the one in my photo might be a bit of a stretch, but I wouldn't be surprised if a small snow shower is still in store.

Nevertheless, I did go shopping at Forever 21 this weekend and cannot WAIT to wear my new spring and summer clothing :)

Domer Lovin'

Tuesday night is definitely my favorite week-night. After I get home from work, I can plop down on the couch and do nothing but watch hours of entertaining TV. Glee, Raising Hope, Teen Mom, My Life as Liz. It's glorious. (I realize that makes me sound extremely lazy, I promise I'm not. I actually just signed up for a Spring Body Bootcamp! More details to come later). Anyway, can you imagine my excitement when during a commercial break, I see Notre Dame featured in an Adidas commercial?!?! Two of my biggest passions mixed together? Awesome!! Plus, it's pretty nice to be in a commercial with Katy Perry and D. Rose! Check out the extended version below. And be on the lookout during commercial breaks :)
